Homegrown Tastes South Africa: A Delicious Journey

What’s on your viewing menu for Wednesdays? Put those leftovers back in the fridge, because the blandest day of the week just got a fresh flavour makeover in Homegrown Tastes South Africa Season 1!

The lovely Lorna Maseko hits the road from Wednesday, 23 March at 20:00 on BBC Lifestyle (DStv Channel 174) in an adventure that’ll take us from farm to table as she celebrates our homegrown produce and the recipes of home… from Dullstroom to the Cape winelands.

You’ll meet the chef's making waves, like Chef Adél Hughes at Oep ve Koep in Paternoster in the Western Cape and Chef Kobo, the owner of Kobo Cuisine and a veteran member of the South African National Culinary Team. Fall in love with local celebs like artist and illustrator Karabo Poppy, who joins Lorna for a whip around the SA Street Food circuit. And join Lorna as she unites the fresh produce, she is picked up with cooking hints from her new friends, to make a signature dish that celebrates South African flavours and favourites in every episode.

It is an eye-opening journey into the modern South African food scene as we take the world stage – with something to be proud of.
