BET daily drama, Black Gold is coming in August

BET Africa's original daily drama, Black Gold, starts on 18 August at 6:30PM on DStv Channel 129.

The emotionally charged, high-stakes drama is a co-production with acclaimed production house Black Brain Pictures and promises to deliver a powerful story of betrayal, legacy, and redemption—infused with Black joy, Black love, and Black pride.

Set in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal, Black Gold follows the gripping journey of Amandla Zungu, portrayed by Nomalanga Shozi in her first-ever lead role. Amandla is a principled daughter of the soil who is cast out of her ancestral home after being falsely accused of her father’s murder. Her stepmother, Florence, played by the iconic Dawn Thandeka King, orchestrates the betrayal, while Sello Maake KaNcube stars as Tom Motsepe, Florence’s secret lover and co-conspirator.
