What to stream on DStv Premium in July 2025

Excuse us while we flex! Yellowstone and Peaky Blinders fans can look forward to the new Tom Hardy/Helen Mirren series MobLand, we have a brand-new Dexter series, Mariana van Zeller is back interrogating the underworld, and it’s Street Outlaw season again.

If that doesn’t get your motor racing, how about the live F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone?

MobLand

Created by The Day of the Jackal’s Ronan Bennett and co-directed by Guy Ritchie, this gangland drama follows London’s Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren). Their fixer, Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), must navigate rising tensions with the rival Stevenson syndicate, led by Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell). As hostilities escalate, a full-blown street war looms – threatening to drench even the Harrigans’ posh country estate in buckets of blood.

Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix

Austria was thrilling but Silverstone is an F1 legend. We’re at the exact midway point in the season as Lando Norris returns to home ground after trouncing the opposition at the Austrian Grand Prix. The coverage and excitement starts building from 06:00 on Friday, 4 July, with a series of specials. There’s live coverage of Friday and Saturday’s practice rounds, along with the qualifying round that kicks off at 16:00 on Saturday, before we settle in for Sunday’s race.

Street Outlaws: Locals Only

Legendary Street Outlaws drivers like Sean “Farmtruck” Whitley, Jeff “AZN” Bonnet, Disco Dave, and Daddy Dave travel across the US to offer hotshots a chance to take on the experts in street races at local drag racing tracks and speedways, with $5 000 on the line. Aside from offering gripping racing action, the series pops the hood on the skills involved in street car modification, and the camaraderie among drivers and racing enthusiasts.

Dexter: Original Sin

Crime drama prequel to the Dexter serial killer series. Long before Dexter Morgan was meticulously murdering criminals in his plastic-wrapped clean room, 20-year-old new medical school graduate Dexter Morgan (Patrick Gibson, with the original Dexter, Michael C Hall, acting as series narrator) joins the Miami Metro Police Department as a forensic intern while his adoptive dad, Detective Harry Morgan (Christian Slater), secretly trains him to cover his tracks and pick the “right” victims. There’s nothing like on-the-job training!

Mean Girl Murders

True crime series about the dark side of women’s friendships and rivalries. Fresh from the US, this season kicks off with a flashback to Covid lockdown in 2021 and the rise of California’s underground car scene, which brought 19-year-old Leilani Beauchamp into the orbit of a jealous ex-girlfriend and her “ghost gun”. The season also delves into the 1984 murder of high school student Kirsten Costas by a 15-year-old cheerleader wannabe whose jealousy of the popular girl turned deadly.

Poker Face

Crime comedy-drama. Rian Johnson’s (Knives Out) second most famous “snoop” is back! Human lie detector Charlie Cale (Natasha Lyonne) wanders around the US meeting fascinating people and poking her nose into their murders and mysteries while dodging casino boss Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman). This season’s guest stars are crazy! Wicked star Cynthia Erivo plays five sisters, Katie Holmes and Giancarlo Esposito play funeral home owners who’re struggling with a horror film, and comedian John Mulaney plays an FBI agent.

Walking with Dinosaurs

This revival of the groundbreaking animated series draws on 25 years of developments in visual effects, and a quarter-century of new discoveries and interpretations in paleontology. See what Morocco was like when it was home to Spinosaurus – the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever, but also just a dad who was determined to feed his kids. Visit the site of a battle between a T-Rex and a Triceratops nicknamed Clover, who’s been parted from her herd, and see the largest dino herd ever recorded.

Trafficked: Underworlds with Mariana Van Zeller

In this spinoff from her Emmy-winning Trafficked series, journalist Mariana van Zeller meets face to face with key players in some of the world’s most closely guarded black market organisations to understand the economic and political factors driving their businesses, along with the impact of the violence they commit to corner the market. This season Mariana investigates Vietnamese women being trafficked to China as “brides”, armoured car heists, and the secret city where hostages are being forced to scam online.

Outlander

Droughtlander is over! In 2023 we saw Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) return to Lallybroch after 10 years in America. Now Jamie has a reluctant meeting with his ex-wife Laoghaire (Nell Hudson), and Claire decides to tell Jamie’s family that she’s a time traveller, while dropping some careful warnings about the upcoming French Revolution. But they’ll soon have an ocean between them again, along with a marriage that Claire is forced into to save her neck.
