Moses Johnson, a talented Black teen, is wrongly arrested after a botched drug bust. Public defender Franklin Roberts, nearing retirement, takes the case, seeing its power to expose deep-rooted corruption and racism in Chicago’s justice system. Inspired by real events, the series draws on creator J. David Shanks’ personal experiences as a former cop from Chicago’s South Side.
